Feasts

Said Aristotle unto Plato,

Have another sweet potato?
Said Plato unto Aristotle,
Thank you, I prefer the bottle.

Get a head start on Reunion.  Come early, be there by noon on Friday and partake of the "Out of the Box" luncheon at the Lulu Wang Center.  Tables will be grouped by dorms.  Here's a chance to catch up with those friends from long ago.  At last count, 163 people had signed up.  What dorm will have the highest percentages of attendees?  Right now Severance is leading in total number.

Friday Evening, there's a Social Hour in Tower Court and Step Singing, led by our own Leslie Meyer Holmes.  Then it's off to Severance Green for the Reunion First Night Dinner.  This is the time when all the classes gather together in the very large tent.  The food is good, the atmosphere is jovial and, being the 50th reunion class, we'll be subject to special scrutiny by the younger alums.  What will be the most original comment overheard?  "They are well preserved and still so active this late at night?"  They don't know of course that we'll be returning that evening to more Singing and Socializing in the Tower Living Room.

Saturday's Feast is the Fabulous 50th Celebration Dinner.

We will start with cocktails and a variety of hors d'oeuvres on the lawn behind Tower Court at 6 pm.  By seven we will proceed to our festive 50th Reunion tent, where seating will be pre-arranged, so you don't need to worry about getting a table together.

You will dine on your choice of breast of chicken stuffed with spinach and Boursin, or a Mediterranean purse including couscous, roasted vegetables and Asiago cheese; wine is included.

Then, as you down your last bit of New England strawberry shortcake and your last sip of coffee or tea, it will be time for the piece de resistance - after a welcome chance to stretch your legs as you walk to Jewett, you will see a special event you will never forget.  We're sure what you will see will make you proud to be part of the Wellesley Class of 1958....RAH !

The Alumnae Parade on Sunday morning is that time when, dressed in white and proudly wearing our insignia, we march behind our banner.  Yes, the times have changed.  We are too young to ride in the antique cars!  The Parade is followed by the 128th Alumnae Annual Meeting.  And then, the reunion event we have been anticipating for the past 50 years . . .

The Fabulous 50th Finale Luncheon with President H. Kim Bottomley hosted by the Alumnae Association.  This complete meal will be at the Lulu Wang Center.

Reunion begins and ends at Lulu with Feasting, but the Friendships last Forever.

See you all there.
